Janine Bisaillon Cary, President
Janine Bisaillon-Cary is the President of the Montserrat Group.
She is the former State Director of International Trade for the State of Maine and served as the President of the Maine International Trade Center (MITC) from 2006 to 2017. Ms. Cary has worked for over 25 years in international trade and business development. As Vice President and Senior Trade Advisor of MITC she led global business operations and advised companies on export expansion. She also initiated and managed the "Invest in Maine" program attracting foreign direct investment to the State of Maine.
Prior to the Trade Center, Ms. Cary worked in the private sector as Vice President of Resource Trading Company, a seafood export company covering global markets; and as Sales Manager of DLP International, an Italian-owned consumer goods import and trading company with clients spanning North America.
Ms. Cary has served on the boards of the Maine Port Authority, the Eastern Trade Council, the International Business and Logistics Industry Advisory Board at Maine Maritime Academy; as well as numerous advisory committees in the manufacturing, life sciences and economic development fields.
She holds a B.A. in Economics and French from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, a Certificate of French History and Literature from the Sorbonne University, and a Global Leaders Executive Education Certificate from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business. Her work has focused mostly on Western Europe, Latin America, East Asia and North America.
