Janine Bisaillon Cary, President

Janine Bisaillon-Cary is the President of the Montserrat Group.

 

​Janine Bisaillon-Cary brings over 25 years of experience helping businesses expand in the U.S. and globally with a focus on advanced manufacturing, food processing, aquaculture, hydroponics, consumer goods, and life science sectors. Ms. Cary is the former State Director of International Trade for the State of Maine and served as President of the Maine International Trade Center (MITC) from 2006-2017.  As Vice President of MITC from 2001-06 she led global business operations and advised companies on export expansion.  She also initiated the state’s “Invest in Maine” foreign direct investment program leading business attraction efforts in Europe, Canada, Latin America, and Asia.

Ms. Cary’s private sector experience includes working as Vice President of Resource Trading Company, a seafood processing company covering U.S. and global markets; and Sales Management at DLP International, an Italian-owned consumer goods import and trading company, with clients spanning North America.

 

Ms. Cary serves as a board member of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s District Export Council, the New England Canadian Business Council, and Bristol Seafood, LLC.  She also is a MarketShare Accel Food Accelerator Manager and Top Gun Mentor at the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs.   Ms. Cary previously served on the boards of the Maine Port Authority, the Eastern Trade Council, the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers Trade Committee, and the International Business and Logistics Industry Advisory Board at Maine Maritime Academy.

 

She holds a B.A. in Economics and French from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst; a Certificate of French History and Literature from the Sorbonne University; and a Global Leaders Executive Education Certificate from Dartmouth's Tuck School of Business.
